නිවසේ සිට පාසලට දුර නැතහොත් school from home යන වෙබ් සිතියම එහෙමත් නැත්නම් web map එකක් මෙමඟින් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට මූලික වශයෙන් උත්සාහයක් ගෙන ඇත.

නිවසේ සිට පාසලට ඇති දුර විශේෂයෙන් පළමු වසර සඳහා සිසුන් පාසල් වලට සිසුන් අයදුම් කිරීමේදී ඉතා වැදගත් වේ.

මෙම web map service මගින් ළඟම තිබෙන පාසල් එසේම පාසලට තිබෙන දුර හඳුනා ගැනීම සහ නිවසට ආසන්නයේ තිබෙන පෞද්ගලික සහ රජයේ පාසල් වල තොරතුරු ලබාදීම එමෙන්ම අදාල පාසලට තිබෙන දුර සොයා ගත හැකි ආකාරයට මෙම වෙබ් අඩවිය නිර්මාණය කිරීමට උත්සහ ගෙන ඇත. මෙය එම උත්සාහයේ ප්‍රථම අදියර වන අතර ඉදිරියට මෙය තවදුරටත් දියුණු කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු.

One of the primary requirements is to assist parents in finding the distance from their homes to respective schools for year one admission. Additionally, there are many other diverse requirements that this project aims to fulfill.

As a country, it is crucial to gather comprehensive spatial data with various attributes. However, simply collecting this information is not enough; it must be made readily available and understandable to the general public.

By providing easy access to spatial data, we can empower citizens to make informed decisions and gain insights into their surroundings. For instance, apart from school admission distance, this data can help them identify nearby healthcare facilities, recreational areas, public transportation options, and other vital amenities.

Moreover, such spatial information can play a significant role in urban planning, disaster management, environmental conservation, and economic development. It enables policymakers, researchers, and businesses to make data-driven decisions, leading to more efficient resource allocation and a better quality of life for residents.

1. A web map for "Distance to school from Home" created By Lank Surveying.

This map is currently in beta version and primarily supports PC usage, though it is also visible on mobile phones.

Usage instructions,

You can search for your desired location using the search bar.Then, to find the distance, follow these steps:

1. Click on the measuring tool button, located on the left side (3rd from the top).

2. Click on your current location to set the starting point.

3. Click on the respective school location to set the ending point.

4. Finally, double-click the mouse button to obtain the final distance.

You can use following functions,

• Zoom

• User location- Developing condition

• Distance Mesurement(explained above)

• Search- Provide address search and location search with lattitude and longitude.
